Native Texan here! Megan has lived her whole life within about a 60-mile radius of the Greater Austin Area. Shortly after graduating college, she decided to pursue her real estate career, with some motivation from her dad, who has since retired from his successful surveying business in Milam County.
Since embarking on this real estate career in 2006, Megan has experienced several market cycles that have proven to be vastly different and provided a wide range of experiences, knowledge and education.
Her earliest years in real estate showed to be a strong seller’s market, however also provided plenty of new construction opportunities for buyers. We then retreated into the recession of 2009 where we encountered job loss, extremely low market values, short sales and foreclosures. 2012 seemed to be the year that we began to see a slow and steady progression in values and a rebounding housing market that has inclined ever since. Today, we are experiencing a shortage of inventory in the resale and new construction market, and the latest issue of concern is the rising interest rates. This current market continues to pose many challenges for sellers and buyers. Through Megan’s dedication to professional development, creative marketing strategies, learning helpful technology, and continuous awareness and adaptation to the ever-changing real estate market, she is able to understand her client’s needs and deliver on their real estate vision.
Megan’s 15+ years of real estate has proven valuable as the transactional experiences and knowledge gained has driven her to provide the optimal experience for her clients. Megan’s focus is mainly on single family residences including new construction and resale homes for buyers and sellers. She is highly knowledgeable in the areas including North Austin and expanding into all the adjacent suburbs.
The majority of her business is generated by referrals from happy clients and friends. Megan develops close relationships with those she serves and strives to exceed expectations every time. The end goal of a transaction is to have successfully delivered a positive experience and to have gained a friend and raving fan.
Following each buyer or seller closing, a donation is made in her client's name(s) to three different charity partners. One is to a Williamson County emergency shelter that provides services to children and youth in the foster care system. The second is Take Me Home - an animal rescue transport service, moving animals out of high kill shelters into other states where people are waiting to adopt. Megan’s deep love for animals, especially abused and neglected ones is the reason she continues to support and act as an advocate for this charity. Additionally, RE/MAX has been a long-time partner of Children’s Miracle Network, who is a local supporter of Dell Children’s Hospital.
No matter the market and no matter the challenge, Megan’s experience as a Broker Associate professional gives her clients a distinct edge in the buying or selling process.
At home, Megan keeps up with her husband, two sons and two dogs. Megan’s husband, Michael, has been in the business of building new homes for 15+ years. Megan values the knowledge and information Michael knows about the industry and views this as an asset to her business. As a family, they enjoy being outside, going to the beach and lake and attending sporting events and concerts or festivals. The summertime brings opportunities to be poolside with friends and family, they enjoy this whenever they can! As Megan’s sons get older, they are getting more involved in sports and other activities. Right now, they are big into karate, baseball and football. Megan has been juggling attending events and ensuring that her client’s needs are met for several years now. Beginning in 2021, Megan began adding team members to help with various showings and other tasks needed for buyers. Having team members has proven to ensure that time sensitive matters are handled quickly and effectively, while Megan is able to better balance and enjoy precious family time on evenings and weekends. Caley Powers
Caley is a native Texan and grew up right down the road in Wimberley, Texas!
She attended Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, where she majored in Mass Communications. After college she moved to the metroplex and started her career working in the front office for the Texas Rangers Baseball team. In her 8-season tenure with the team, she worked in various roles within the organization: customer service, ballpark operations, and then finally landed in a role that she will tell you was her calling, event coordination. After her time with the Rangers, Caley moved on to working as an ambassador at Deloitte - planning and coordinating events and meetings in their downtown Dallas and Fort Worth offices.
At the end of 2020, Caley’s husband was offered a job with the University of Texas, so they packed up their life, and their almost one year old, and moved down to Central Texas. After spending about a year and a half at home with her sweet babies (two under two), Caley decided it was time to take on another challenge and joined Megan’s team as her Assistant. She loves being a part of a team that is so client focused and she enjoys getting to bring her years of experience in customer service and planning to her new position.
When not working, Caley loves spending time with her husband, Andrew, and their two kiddos. They are big baseball fans (they met while both working at the Ballpark), love being outside, college football and spending time with family.
