Because sometimes something heartbreaking…turns into something life-changing.When you first hear “street dog rescue,” you might picture a few dogs being saved here and there. And yes — that’s part of it.But what Jack Jack’s Pack is doing? It started with one dog… and has turned into saving thousands.

And this one hits especially close to home for me.Two of my own dogs were rescued by Jack Jack’s Pack, and we’ve had the privilege of working alongside Sasha and Chas. What they’re doing in our community is something really special.

Who They Are

Jack Jack’s Pack is a nonprofit street dog rescue based right here in Central Texas. They are dedicated to helping lost, dumped, and abused dogs get a second chance through fostering, rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming.

But the heart behind it? It’s personal.

Their Story

On October 27, 2021, Sasha and her family experienced something no pet owner ever wants to go through. Their 17-year-old Chihuahua, Jack-Jack, slipped out the front door.

What followed was months of searching — knocking on over 2,000 doors, hiring a pet detective, putting him on the news, posting everywhere imaginable… doing everything you possibly could to bring your dog home.

And during that search, something unexpected happened. People started calling about dogs that looked like Jack-Jack.

But they weren’t him. They were abandoned. Dumped. Hurt. Forgotten.

And instead of turning away… they stepped in. Those dogs became the beginning of what is now Jack Jack’s Pack.

It was officially founded on Christmas Day in 2021 — built out of love, heartbreak, and a decision to keep showing up for dogs who had no one else. Since then, they’ve saved over 2,600 dogs.

Their Mission

Jack Jack’s Pack exists to help lost pets find their way home, rescue street dogs, and give them the care, rehabilitation, and second chance they deserve.

Through fostering, rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming, they are transforming the lives of vulnerable dogs across Central Texas. And they’re not slowing down.

How They Help (It’s More Than a Rescue)

Yes, they rescue dogs. But the reality of what they do goes so much deeper.

• Street & Emergency Rescue
  They step in when dogs are abandoned, dumped, or in dangerous situations — often when there are no other options.
• Medical Care & Critical Treatment
  Many dogs come to them injured, sick, or severely neglected. They take on cases that others simply can’t.
• Foster-Based Care
  Their home — and their network of fosters — becomes a safe place for dogs to land, heal, and learn what love feels like.
• Rehabilitation
  From physical recovery to emotional healing, they give these dogs the time and care they need to truly have a second chance.
• Rehoming
  They are intentional about placing dogs in the right homes, setting both the dog and the family up for success.

The Reality Behind the Work

This isn’t easy work.

They’ve cared for dogs who were near starvation.
Dogs who were poisoned.
Dogs who were abandoned and left to survive on their own.
Dogs who required major medical care just to make it.

And they keep saying yes anyway. Because if they don’t… who will?

One of the things we love most about what they’re doing right now is that they’re not just focused on today — they’re building something for the future.

Jack Jack’s Pack is working toward creating a safe haven for these dogs — a space where they can receive care, recover, and truly have a chance at a better life.

Why This Matters

This one is personal for me. Two of my own dogs came from Jack Jack’s Pack. I’ve seen firsthand the love, the sacrifice, and the work that Sasha and Chas pour into every single dog they rescue.
