Hey y'all! If you're anything like me, you know there's no place like Texas, and within the Lone Star State, there's no place like Georgetown. That's right, I said it! This quaint town is just the slice of heaven that you've been searching for, whether you're a buyer or seller. Don't believe me? Sit tight, partner. I'm about to school you on why Georgetown is the bee's knees.

With a population hovering around 86,507, according to the U.S. Census Bureau population estimation in July 2022, Georgetown offers the perfect mix of small-town charm and big-city amenities.

The Georgetown Independent School District (GISD) is no slouch. Known for its challenging, inquiry-based curriculum, GISD is committed to creating competent, confident, and independent learners. But this isn't just about hitting the books hard; it's about finding value and meaning in learning. From personalized instructional methods to resources that cater to all abilities and interests, GISD has it dialed in, ensuring students are not just prepped for tests, but for life. So go ahead, enroll your future Einstein or Beyoncé; GISD's got them covered!

Downtown Georgetown: Historic Downtown Georgetown—where charm and history do the Texas Two-Step together! The "Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas" is more than just a pretty face; it's home to 40+ retail shops, 45+ restaurants, a toy store that'll make you feel five again, art galleries, and so much more. With its stunning 1911 courthouse acting as the crown jewel, this downtown area is not just a blast from the past, but the heart and soul of the community. Whether you're on the hunt for a unique keepsake, a delicious bite, or just looking to soak up some local culture, Downtown Georgetown serves up a slice of timeless Texan hospitality you won't want to miss. Trust me, it's a must-visit for anyone coming to town!

If you're around the first weekend in December, be sure to check out the 42nd Annual Georgetown Christmas Stroll in historic Downtown Georgetown. Kickstart your festive season with this beloved event featuring a parade, live entertainment, and over 150 vendors in historic downtown. From photos with Santa at the courthouse to gourmet bites and unique holiday shopping, it's a jolly experience that promises something for everyone!

  1. Red Poppy Capital: You heard that right—Georgetown isn't just known for its Texan charm, but also for its radiant red poppies that sprinkle the town like confetti. But here's the kicker: It's the official "Red Poppy Capital of Texas," a title given by the Texas Legislature. Every April, the town bursts into a frenzy of red blooms, and is celebrated with the annual Red Poppy Festival. It's a poppy-palooza that offers music, food, and arts, all set against a backdrop of these iconic red flowers. Don't miss it; it's the ultimate "pop" culture event in Georgetown!
  2. Hello, Historic: This town is teeming with history. In fact, the Williamson County Courthouse, built in 1911, still stands and functions. Georgetown is also the county seat of Williamson County.
  3. Lights, Camera, Georgetown!: Believe it or not, this scenic town has had its fair share of silver screen moments. Several movies have been filmed in Georgetown, including Friday Night Lights, Dazed and Confused, Varsity Blues and What's Eating Gilbert Grape. From independent flicks to big-budget productions, Georgetown's picturesque landscapes and historic charm have served as the backdrop for various films.
  4. Southwestern University: Touted as Texas' oldest university, Southwestern offers a diverse range of academic programs and a vibrant campus life, making it the perfect launchpad for the leaders and thinkers of tomorrow.

So, there you have it, folks. Whether you're a first-time homebuyer or looking to sell and upgrade, Georgetown has something for everyone. It's a genuine Texas treasure, just like a good BBQ or a Willie Nelson song.

Give me a shout if you're looking to learn more about what makes this town so great. I promise to steer you in the right direction!
