Are you, like our real estate agents, in the midst of a thorough spring cleaning? Give your gently used clothes, furniture, books, appliances, and household goods new life at these worthy Central Texas donation centers, just minutes from Round Rock homes for sale

  • Treasures Thrift Store & Boutique - 1099 E. Main Rd., Round Rock, TX 78664
True to the name, Treasures Thrift Store & Boutique is full of great finds at low prices. Proceeds from the shop, which includes an upscale clothing boutique, benefit the Round Rock Serving Center. For more than 30 years, the center has operated a food pantry and programs such as Computers for Kids, Community Gardens, and Keep Round Rock Warm. The thrift store welcomes donations of clothing, books, furniture, and appliances. Hours are 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday.

  • Salvation Army Family Store & Donation Center - 601 W. Louis Henna Blvd., Round Rock, TX 78664
The Salvation Army is best known for its iconic bell-ringers spotted on street corners and outside stores during the holidays, but their good works go on year-round. Clothing, furniture, appliances, and household goods can be contributed to the Salvation Army Family Store & Donation Center. These stores are specifically designated to support the Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers, where people dealing with substance abuse can get assistance to work towards a second chance. Hours are 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Wednesday and Sunday.

  • Goodwill Central Texas - 677 University Blvd., Round Rock, TX 78665
Self-sufficiency gives people the confidence to continue improving their lives. Goodwill Central Texas partners with employers and service providers to provide opportunities for meaningful work. Their network of retail stores helps raise funding for programs such as the Goodwill Career & Technical Academy, which offers free training, career support, and job placement services. Collectibles, clothing, jewelry, and electronics are just a few of the items available for sale. Hours are 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. daily except Sunday when doors open at 10 a.m.

  • APA! Thrift - 5801 Burnet Rd., Austin, TX 78756
In 1997, Austin Pets Alive! started as an advocacy group dedicated to saving the lives of vulnerable homeless animals near Austin homes for sale. As the organization grew to include pet adoptions and medical care, APA Thrift! was opened to help raise funds. With two floors of selling space, the boutique-style shop has plenty of room for your donated goods. Items accepted include clothing, jewelry and accessories, books, home decor, electronics, collectibles, and furniture. Hours are 1 p.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon - 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon - 6 p.m. Sunday.
