Start Training for These Round Rock 5Ks
It's springtime in Texas, and it's time to lace up your running shoes! The coming months bring some of our real estate agents' favorite 5k events of the year, and the sooner you start getting ready, the better.
Many of these runs and walks also help raise money for great causes, and all offer amazing views of the Texas Hill Country scenery. Mark your calendars for these upcoming 5k events in Round Rock and the surrounding areas:
- Red Poppy 5k - Georgetown, TX 78633
Coming right up on April 29, the Red Poppy 5k is part of Georgetown's Red Poppy Festival. This timed run/walk follows a picturesque course alongside the San Gabriel River and is just one of many exciting events that are part of the annual festival. Be sure to stick around for food, drinks, games, music, and entertainment near these Georgetown homes for sale. - Great Futures 5k - Georgetown, TX 78633
If you get done with the Red Poppy 5k and are still ready to run, then you're in luck. On April 30—the very next day—you have an opportunity to participate in the Great Futures 5k, a virtual 5k that benefits the Boys & Girls Club of Georgetown. Technically you can complete the run/walk any time between April 30 and May 7 and then upload your time to the race website. - Donut Dash 5k - Round Rock, TX 78664
Are you ready to accept the donut challenge? Now in its 4th year, the annual Donut Dash returns to the city of Round Rock on May 14, offering an opportunity to run a 5k and feast on your favorite local donuts. Free donuts will be provided at the midpoint of the race by Round Rock Donuts, and participants are encouraged to grab one (or a dozen) to refuel on the way. Get ready for the 7th annual Super Family Fund Run, which takes place in the city of Round Rock on May 21. This event benefits Brady's Bridge After-School Program for Kids of All Abilities and includes a timed 5k, a 1-mile fun run, and a 5k workout challenge with Camp Gladiator. It takes place in Old Settler's Park in Round Rock, which is home to some of the city's most beautiful scenery. - Summer Sizzler 5k - Cedar Park, TX 78613
By the time June rolls around, you can expect things to get might toasty in the Austin area! That's part of the fun of the Summer Sizzler 5k, an annual event that returns to the suburb of Cedar Park this year on June 5. You'll definitely sweat it out as you complete the race, which takes place at Brushy Creek Sports Park, mere minutes from many Cedar Park homes for sale. - 5k for Clay - Round Rock, TX 78664
The 5k for Clay is an annual summertime race that is typically held on a Sunday morning in mid-August. The 2022 date is expected to be August 12th, though it has yet to be confirmed at the time of publication, so stay tuned. In any event, the race benefits the Clay Madsen Recreation Center, which strives to be a safe place where children and adults can learn leadership and sportsmanship in the Round Rock area.
