Christmas Tree Themes

If you are putting a tree up in your new home, you might be pondering the perfect theme. Choosing a theme for your tree can make it easier to choose your decorations. It can also ensure your final result looks unified, balanced, and stunning. But how do you go about choosing a theme for your Christmas tree? Here are a few tips and suggestions our real estate agents have to offer.

  • Consider a Color
If you're looking for a simple theme and one that creates a very classy tree, consider picking a color. For instance, a tree decorated in pale blue can look wintry and soothing. One decorated in red can look traditional and homey. Once you choose a color, look for a variety of decorations in that color. Try to pick ones with a variety of textures. For instance, you could use smooth bulbs, fluffy balls, and silky flowers.

  • Showcase Your Family
Try decorating your tree with ornaments that represent things that each member of your family is interested in. Make a special trip to the store where everyone selects ornaments. When your tree is finished, it will look like a collage of your family's interests and passions.

  • Go the Natural Route
A naturally decorated Christmas tree can look lovely in a more rustic home. This is also a really "green" approach and an affordable one since you can collect a lot of your decorations outdoors. Look for pinecones, and tie a string around each one so you can hang it on the tree. If you find some interesting sticks, tie strings, and hangers around them, too. You can also shop for ornaments with a "natural" look, such as ones shaped like icicles or squirrels.

  • Go With Glass
Glass bulbs are a classic Christmas tree decoration but are traditionally paired with other decor. An interesting theme would be to use only glass bulbs to decorate your tree. You could choose just two or three colors, such as red and white, or use a wide range of colors for a busier look. Using several different sizes of glass bulbs would be another way to create an interesting, appealing look.

  • Use Flowers
A Christmas tree decorated with flowers will look natural yet creative. You could use silk flowers from the craft store. Use a hole punch to punch a hole in each one, then run a string through it. Some people like to decorate only with wintry flowers, such as poinsettias. Others like to use spring flowers, like daffodils, as a reminder that spring is coming.

Hopefully, these suggestions will help you select the perfect theme for your tree. A nicely decorated tree makes a great backdrop for a holiday party. If you're still looking for Cedar Park homes for sale, feel free to contact us. We're ready and waiting to help with your home search.
